Summary

Lead Celestica's global logistics and warehouse functions from Richardson, TX. This role involves transforming operations, driving efficiency, and fostering innovation. Detailed Description

  • Logistics Management:
    • Transportation Strategy Optimization: Develop and implement strategies for sea, air, land, and courier services. Optimize transportation lanes and implement milk-runs between 3PLs and factories.
    • Cost-effective Logistics Management: Monitor and manage logistics rates to enhance efficiency, minimize costs, and maximize resource utilization. Implement cost management measures, evaluate processes, and establish KPIs.
    • Local Customer and Forwarding Excellence: Oversee customs clearance, haulage, and documentation. Improve lead time delivery and ensure timely customer service.
    • Container and Transport Optimization: Enhance efficiency through loading and stacking optimization, streamlining operations, minimizing waste, and maximizing capacity.
    • Global Compliance and Legalization: Ensure adherence to global logistics regulations and legalization requirements. Stay updated on industry changes, implement adjustments, and establish FTZs with US Trade and Border Protection Program compliance.
    • Incoterms Adherence: Define and enforce Incoterms for standardized understanding and compliance. Monitor and update to align with industry standards and company goals.
    • People Management and Operational Oversight: Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team, fostering continuous improvement. Establish reporting mechanisms, conduct reviews, and provide strategic guidance. Oversee budgeting and cost estimation.
  • Warehouse Management:
    • Operational Efficiency: Streamline operations to enhance efficiency and reduce processing times. Implement best practices for inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping.
    • Inventory Accuracy and Control: Establish robust inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and ensure accuracy. Implement cycle counting and regular audits.
    • Optimized Storage Solutions: Maximize space utilization through strategic layout planning and storage optimization. Implement systems for efficient picking, packing, and storage.
    • Technology Integration: Evaluate and implement WMS for automation and real-time tracking. Leverage technology for data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. Implement ASRS solutions.
    • Quality Assurance: Develop and enforce quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and condition of goods. Minimize errors and defects.
    • Safety and Compliance: Establish and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Cost Management: Monitor and optimize warehouse-related costs, including labor, equipment, and storage. Implement cost-effective measures.
    • Team Development and Leadership: Foster continuous improvement and employee development. Provide leadership and guidance, encouraging collaboration and efficiency.
    • Customer Service Excellence: Collaborate with the logistics team to exceed customer expectations for order fulfillment and delivery. Implement customer-centric processes.
    • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Establish KPIs and regularly assess performance. Provide reports to senior management.

Physical Demands

Typical Education

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or engineering. MBA is advantageous.
